Travel by 4WD

A 4WD is beyond doubt the most versatile means of transport to discover large parts of the ‘real Australia’. Some people prefer to travel around Australia and stay on the beaten track and the highways, stopping for the nights in towns or cities. More and more people however, decide to inject a little sense of adventure into their holiday. They do this by getting off the beaten track and venture into more remote area’s of Australia, driving along the many unsealed tracks and dirt roads. A 4WD vehicle offers you this freedom and adventure and can take you anywhere. Many tourist hot spots on the East coast are easily accessible with a 2WD vehicle or campervan. Many attractions however in Western Australia, the Northern Territory and South Australia can only be visited by 4WD vehicle.
A whole new world will open up for you when you take your 4WD vehicle into the many swimholes, rockformations, national parks, remote white sandy beaches, tiny outback settlements, beautiful camping spots and other magnificent locations in this vast and impressive continent!

Are you ready for the adventure of a life time?

The advantages of a 4WD in a nutshell:

  • Rental 2WD vehicles (cars, campervans, motorhomes) always have restrictions concerning driving on unsealed roads.

  • You can take a 4WD vehicle into almost any part of Australia onto almost any recognised track or road.

  • Many National Parks and other beautiful spots are only accessible by 4WD.

  • You can take shortcuts by driving on tracks instead of sealed roads, examples are the Tanami Road, the Plenty Highway, the Great Central Road and the Oodnadatta Track.

  • Most 4WD’s (some exceptions) can be taken out onto beaches.
