4 berth Apollo Outback camper

A 4WD camper with dual cabin! This vehicle is ideal for up to four people and the passengers can sit directly behind the driver which is not only safer, but also more comfortable and fun! The Apollo 4WD has 2 spacious double beds to sleep 4 in comfort. Its design is very well thought through with i.e. a two-burner stove, a portable stove, 55 litres fresh water tank, side awning, radio-CD player, 2 LPG bottles, 75 litre dieseltank, power inlet, dual battery system and more interesting features. No internal walk-through access and freezer.

FEATURES: Toyota Hilux with poptop roof, 3000cc 6 cylinder diesel motor, 5 speed manual high & low gear or automatic transmission, power steering, airco in driver cabin & rear, radio-CD player, fuel tank with total capacity of 75 litres, fuel consumption 14/15 litres per 100 km *, 4 seats with belts, snorkel and large awning.
Dimensions: length 560 cm, width 198 cm, exterior height 230 cm (poptop roof down), interior height 195 cm.

* Optional items for an additional surcharge: outdoor chair $15 per rental, outdoor table $20 per rental, heater or fan $15 per rental, satellite phone $20 per rental + call costs. GPS is $10 per day (maximum $100 per rental)

** Each vehicle is supplied with a complimentary Welcome Pack for the first night. The pack contains matches, mini shampoo and conditioner, dishwashing liquid, sponge, soap, salt and pepper, coffee, tea, sugar sachets.
A First Aid kit is supplied. If the seal is broken or the kit is not returned the kit becomes the property of the renter and a $50 fee is charged when the vehicle is returned.

Locations: rentals from/to 9 depots Australia wide: Adelaide, Alice Springs, Brisbane, Broome, Cairns, Darwin, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney. No rentals from or to Hobart.

One way rentals are available, the standard one way fee is $250 for rentals 20 days or less per segment.
The fee for pick up or drop off in Broome is $750.


Minimum hire period: the minimum hire period for this 4WD model is 7 days.
A 10 day minimum period applies during the peak season period, from 15 December to 5 January.
During the Bathurst and Phillip Island Races a 10 day minimum rental period applies from eastern depots.
Minimum rental periods are subject to change during other peak periods.

Road restrictions: a 4WD Outback camper can be driven on sealed/bitumen and also on many recognized unsealed tracks but may only travel to the following remote areas with the express written permission of Apollo: Any Islands, Tasmania, Simpson Desert, Cape York (North of Daintree River), Oodnadatta Track, Birdsville Track, Tanami Track, Gibb River Road, Kalumburu Road, Warburton Road, Strzelecki Track, Cape Leveque, Bungle Bungles, the Plenty Highway, Burke Development Road from Chillagoe to Normanton and Savannah Way from Normanton to Borroloola, Finke Road, Central Arnhem Road, Arnnhem Land in general
and any other remote area.


Not permitted: an Outback camper is not permitted to travel on the Canning Stock Route, The Lost City in Litchfield Park, Gunbarrel Highway, the Old Telegraph Road section of the road to Cape York, Boggy Hole
(Finke Gorge National Park), the Old South Road from Maryvale to Finkea and the last 2 kilometres of the extremely rough Lennard River Gorge Road, at any time.


Wet season: vehicles are also not permitted to travel to Cape York between the months of December to May, the wet season time. At all other times permission is required. Apollo reserves the right at its sole discretion to restrict vehicle movements in certain areas due to adverse road or weather conditions, and the distance to nominated destinations in relation to the length of the rental period.

Drivers age: drivers must be 21 years of age or over. For drivers 75 years of age or over, a medical certificate stating that the customer is fit to drive for the duration of the hire is required upon 4WD collection.
